Colcom spreads its wings to Zvishavane

Colcom initiated a phased programme to increase its distribution footprint two years ago.
“Colcom has had its own shops managed by its own staff at its factory in Harare and in Mutare for many years, as well as Colcom shops run by its nominated distributor in Bulawayo” said a statement from Colcom.

“In terms of the phased distribution programme,  further eight small shops have been developed over the past two years, six of which are franchised in the Harare and adjacent areas.

The new shops are in Park Street, Mbare, Chitungwiza and Mbudzi, with the other shops being in Bindura, Chegutu, Mutare and, most recently, Zvishavane.
“This now completes the first phase of the programme which is currently being assessed to consider the way forward.”

Commenting on the Colcom products in the new shops, the statement said the shops are equipped with cold chain and other facilities to carry any of Colcom’s products but the emphasis is on helping to meet market requirements at the respective sites.

The statement underlined that Colcom greatly valued its longstanding relationships with the large retail chains and other small retail outlets, and said the products sold by the new Colcom shops were at Colcom’s recommended retail prices.

The Zvishavane shop will likely draw a lot of interest in the predominantly mining community as more and more operators are now setting up shop in the platinum-rich environs.
