COLE SEES RED

A POSH French vineyard is toasting victory over Cole Palmer after giving his plans for a wine range with a similar name the boot.

Chateau Palmer opposed the ace’s bid to flog plonk under his Cold Palmer nickname.

And now the Chelsea and England star, 23, has dropped wine from a list of goods he hopes to sell using the brand name inspired by his shivering goal celebration.

We revealed in August he wanted to use the name for products including wines, spirits and clothes. But the vineyard in the Bordeaux wine region called foul. Palmer’s legal team has now amended its Intellectual Property Office documents to head off the clash.

Chateau Palmer was founded in 1814 when Army officer Charles Palmer bought the estate. Royal wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd says: “At their best, the wines of Ch.

Palmer are among the greatest anywhere in Bordeaux.”

A bottle of its Cru Classé Margaux from 1970 is priced at £750. Cole is not known to be a wine connoisseur. But he did pretend to drink a lager thrown on the pitch last season — Sun.
