Rising comedian Lesley Masuku, popularly known as General Lesley, is set to take centre stage once again with the second edition of his one-man comedy show, “Hole of Shame”, at the Bulawayo Theatre on August 9.
Hailing from Emakhandeni, Bulawayo, the 30-year-old comedian has quickly made a name for himself in the local comedy circuit. His debut came just last month, on July 6, when he opened a comedy night hosted by Major at the same venue.
Since then, General Lesley has gone on to deliver six performances, including appearances at The Really Live Shows hosted by D’Juni and Funny Stories That Heal, a platform led by Frank Chirisa.

“I was groomed by the likes of Raisedon Baya, Thabani Hillary Moyo, and Memory Kumbota. I started theatre when I was in Form 1. My first Hole of Shame show was on July 19, and this upcoming one is the second,” he said.
Rooted in personal experiences, Hole of Shame dives into painful real-life moments, his own and those of people close to him, using humour as a form of healing and advocacy.
“It’s a comedy show based on true and painful life events. It’s also a message to the boy child: it’s okay not to be okay,” he explained.
General Lesley is also billed to perform at the Cross Border Comedy Show on August 23, alongside Khanyisa Bhunu. The production is managed by the Young Artists Development School.
