Committee tours Provincial Heroes Acres to assess and improve shrine conditions”

A PARLIAMENTARY Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs, Security Services, and War Veterans Affairs embarked on a tour of Chinhoyi Provincial Heroes Acre and Warren Park Provincial Heroes Acre to assess the current state of the shrines and monuments.

In a statement, the Parliament of Zimbabwe said the visit was aimed at identifying areas that required improvement as a way of preserving and honouring the legacy of the country’s heroes and heroines.

“The Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs, Security Services, and War Veterans Affairs had a tour of Chinhoyi Provincial Heroes Acre and Warren Park Provincial Heroes Acre. The main objective was to access the situation and identify areas that need improvement at the shrines and monuments of the liberation of our nation in terms of security, sanitation, and resurfacing of the shrines,” reads the statement.
