A TEENAGER, who burst into a lodge and stole US$12 from a guest who was asleep, has been ordered to perform 315 hours of community service.
Lackmore House, 18, was initially sentenced to 12 months imprisonment at the Chitungwiza Magistrates Court but three months were suspended on condition he doesn’t commit a similar offence in the next five years.
The remaining nine months we commuted to community service.
It was proved that on Saturday, Lackmore stole money while Shorai Karonga was sleeping at the lodge at about 2 am.
He is believed to have entered through the ceiling.
However, he was seen by a receptionist.
The money was recovered.
