adminTwo Beitbridge youths have taken the information and communication technology sector by storm after a establishing a very vibrant computer shop in the town. Accessing the internet and servicing of computers and acquisition of accessories had become a challenge for the community around the border town until the coming in of Messrs Mike Maluleke and Ryan Weale of Computer Gurus. The company was established in 2011.
The shop which offers training on basic computer skills, internet facilities, computer and accessories is located in the central business district next to DHL offices.
Messrs Maluleke and Weale who are graduates in ICT at Africa University and Pretoria University respectively, are helping those who have challenges with regards to ICT and other related issues.
“Basically we are a company that is flexible, innovative, responsive and entrepreneurial. We seek to create and introduce the much needed change in Beitbridge as we want to take this town’s businesses to the next era in Computer Information Technology.
“Our business is to be a leading innovator, developer and marketer of computer hardware, peripherals, products and systems by providing superior value to our customers in meeting their information technology needs and ensuring quality within computer products,” said Mr Maluleke.
He added that they were a new IT company that was diverse when it comes to the computer industry.
He said they set up the company after realising that there was a missing link to the much needed computer services and products for local businesses and individuals.
He added that the internet was now essential for any modern day business as it provides communication to the outside world.
“Here in Beitbridge clearing agents now solely depend on the internet with the introduction of the new internet based ASYCUDA world programme to create and send bills of entries to Zimra. They also need to send and receive important emails.With this great dependence on the internet for business to run smoothly, it must be affordable and also fast which is a great issue here in Zimbabwe as the internet is slow and very expensive.
“We are here to provide simple solutions to all those problems by providing faster, better and cheaper modes of internet connectivity. We will provide security to block your computers from threats such as viruses and malware that come from the internet by setting up Firewalls.
“We will provide cheap 3G modems and also network boosters for improved reception so that you have the best internet connection. Apart from that we do provide troubleshooting if your business is having problems with your existing internet connection so you are always up and running,” he said.
Mr Weale said the whole concept was to offer a new and complete solution for all office computer problems by introducing their technical support contract.
“In this contract we will be a call away ready to deal with any issues that are affecting your computers. This will cover you on maintenance, repair, and upgrading and virus protection of your computers
“Knowing Beitbridge is a dusty town, we will offer you dust blowing for computers and other dust sensitive office equipment as this will ensure the equipment’s best performance and a prolonged lifespan,” he said.
He added that Computer Gurus also offered routine system checkups for most of their clients on the technical support contract.
