thE Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) recently commissioned an Information Community Centre in Concession.

This is part of Government’s e-learning programme aimed at ensuring that schools around the country are computerised.

During the commissioning of the centre, Government also announced a donation of 30 computers towards a similar number of schools in Mazowe West.

Mazowe West legislator Cde Kazembe Kazembe (pictured right), who received the consignment on behalf of the community, said the donation would go a long way in assisting the community around Concession with information technology, which is key to development in the globalised world.

“On behalf of the community in Concession, I am grateful for the donations of the computers,” he said. “I would like to thank ICT Minister Cde Supa Mandiwanzira for this gesture.

“This will go a long way in assisting the community with information technology. I will distribute the computers to all the schools in the constituency.”

Learners from schools in the area expressed their gratitude to Potraz for the initiative, adding that they will take advantage of the gadgets to improve their academic performance.

Kundai High School headmaster Mr Edgar Gatsi said the donation came at the right time as they were in need of more computers to help their learners broaden their research.
