Congolese duo offering a different style

TWO Congolese rappers, Lyon L and Jay B, reckon they have plenty to offer on the local music landscape.

The two artistes, who are based in Mbare, revealed that their style of fusing Swahili, Shona and English, has been well received and is winning the hearts of many music fans.

The two were speaking to H-Metro ahead of the release of their new song and video titled “We Run Dem” today.

“We like to fuse languages when we sing and this has helped us build a wider audience.

“We feel we have something unique to offer on the local hip hop scene and we are working hard to make an impact.

“We have already started a movement called Zim Swahili, which also has other artists who sing that kind of style,” said Lyon L.

Jay B added: “Our new song and video ‘We Run Dem’ is out and has been received well.

“The video was directed by Wustar withShilz Teemney Entertainment. the support of

“We have more music and videos coming before the end of the year.

“We are also working on a new project for Kambucha Herbal Drink.”
