THE Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has projected a cool and windy weekend with light rain and drizzle in certain places with Thursday 19 September 2024 projected to be the last sunny and hot day of the week.
According to the MSD, a significant strengthening of relatively cool winds, from the south-east coast of Southern Africa, is expected on Thursday evening 19 September 2024.
“This should steer a cool and moist south easterly airflow into Zimbabwe on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September 2024, resulting in cloudy, windy and cool weather over Matabeleland South, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces as well as southern part of the Midlands, with light rain and drizzle in places.
“Keep warm, if there is need to use a brazier or fire to keep warm while indoor, ensure the room is well ventilated. Consult your local certified health practitioner/doctor for all health related issues that may arise due to significant temperature fluctuations,” said the MSD.
With Bulawayo temperatures on Thursday projected to go as high as 35 degrees Celsius and as low as 18 degrees Celsius, the cool winds are set to see temperatures going as low as 13 degrees Celsius and as high as 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday. On Sunday and Monday, temperatures are projected to go as low as 11 degrees Celsius.
