A Harare-based cop offered US$50 in child support plus school fees, but only on condition that he sees invoices first.

Godknows Dzangare, a police officer, made the offer after being dragged to the Maintenance Court by his ex-wife, Primrose Mangwarara.

Primrose was demanding $50 000 for fees plus US$150.

“I will pay fees on condition that I see invoices from the school. I also have bills like rent and I am also helping my mother who has a heart problem and pays a shortfall of US$50 per month,” he said.

Primrose said, the money is little.

“It is too little; if it is possible, may he be ordered to buy uniforms as well,” said Primrose.

Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Godknows to pay US$60 and school fees, as well as to buy uniforms twice a year.
