COP GIVES STRANDED WOMAN US$1, RAPES HER AT POLICE STATION

A POLICE officer is on the run after raping a stranded woman who was seeking assistance at Mbare Police Station.

The officer had given the woman US$1 to look for some food.

The woman, 24, had come from Madziva to meet her father at Mbare Musika.However, her father never showed up. The woman decided to seek help and shelter from police officers.They directed her to Mbare Police Station since she had the contact number of her father.

She presented her case to a policeman at Mbare Police Station who called her father, who also promised to come and pick her up. Another police officer took the woman to a car park at the police station and gave her a blanket and asked her to rest in a car.

He also gave her a dollar to buy some food. Later, that same officer returned to the car demanding sex.

He was holding some condoms.

The woman rejected his demands and he raped her once.

Narrating her story, the woman said the officer had given her a dollar to buy food while she was sitting in the charge office. “When I denied his sexual advances, the police officer wrestled with me arguing that I had to return his one dollar.He took advantage of the fact that I had disclosed that I had no other money for transport to return to Madziva.”

In the morning, the officer asked her to take a bath and the woman got the opportunity to report her case to a female officer. The police officer, who had raped her, then disappeared.”

She was escorted to Edith MSF where she was medically examined and later taken to a safe house.

Police could not be reached for comment.H-Metro is reliably informed the case was reported under RRB 6283339.
