Eric Chingombe died in a road traffic accident along the Harare-Chivhu Road on Sunday together with his wife Rairai Mudyiwa and son Tonderai Chingombe.
He was 47.
His wife was 44 and his son was 18.
When they reached Chingombe village in Gutu, the Mudyiwa family decided to mourn their dead under a tree.
They are protesting that Eric had not built a kitchen for their daughter.
The incident stunned mourners who recorded the proceedings and posted on social media.
Video footage showed the Mudyiwa family and some mourners gathered under a tree while the Chingombe family and some mourners were gathered at a house.
One of the Chingombe family members, Tavonga Munyaradzi, told H-Metro that the issue was later resolved.
