THE dead went quiet, but the living screamed.
A murder mystery is rocking Pelandaba West after the lifeless body of a man was discovered early Friday morning lying among the tombstones at Pelandaba Cemetery, turning the graveyard into a fresh crime scene.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Isa Yadini of Pumula East, was found with multiple stab wounds, sparking fears that the cemetery has become a dumping ground for brutal killers.
According to police, the gruesome discovery was made on 27 June around 8AM by a 64-year-old man from Old Magwegwe who was on his way to Kelvin Industries. His morning routine turned horrific when he noticed a crowd gathered inside the cemetery.
Curious, he moved closer — only to be met by the horror of Yadini’s bloodied body sprawled among the graves, stone cold and soaked in mystery.
A police report was filed immediately, and investigations into the murder are now underway.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident and appealed to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the killer or killers to come forward.
“This was not a natural death. The deceased had several stab wounds. We urge the public to assist us in bringing those responsible to justice,” said Insp Msebele.
Was it a robbery gone wrong? A revenge attack? Or something darker lurking in the shadows of Bulawayo’s graveyards?
For now, only the graves know.
If you know something, say something. Report to the nearest police station.
