THE Zimbabwe team for the Confederation of Schools Sport Association of Southern Africa (Cossasa) Games reported for camp at Founders High School yesterday.
Both the National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) and National Association of Primary Heads (Naph) teams to represent the country in Namibia on 27-31 August will begin their training today.
The games which were supposed to be held in  Lesotho have been moved to Namibia after Lesotho failed to raise the required funding.
Zimbabwe will have two Nash Under-17 boys and girls basketball teams’, Nash Under-17 netball team and Naph Under-13 netball team.

There will be three volleyball teams that will include two Nash boys and girls and one Naph boys.
In football there are two teams, one Nash girls and one Naph boys teams.

Nash vice-president Arthur Maphosa said they hope to do well and build from their strong finish last year.

He said the fact that they have most of their athletes at the ongoing Zimbabwe National Youth Games in the city was an advantage to them as they are playing competitive games.

“We have most of our athletes at the Youth Games which are ongoing here in Bulawayo and that is good for us because they are playing in competitive matches so they will be sharp and fit when we travel to Namibia,” he said.

The team will leave on 26 August and will be back on 1 September.
