NEWCASTLE have rejected a £75million bid for Sandro Tonali from Tottenham.
Toon are holding out for a deal worth a whopping £100m for the Italy international, who is open to leaving St James’ Park this summer.
Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has identified compatriot Tonali as the marquee signing to spark his revolution in North London.
The player is interested in coming to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but also has interest from Manchester City and Arsenal.
It remains to be seen if Spurs will come back in with an improved offer for the 26-year-old, or if their bid will spark City and Arsenal to launch one of their own.
Man City are also attempting to sign England star Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Tonali is under contract at St James’ Park until 2029, with Eddie Howe’s side also possessing an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
Spurs are also interested in Mateus Fernandes of West Ham and Alex Scott of Bournemouth.
Liverpool had been keen on £70m-rated Scott but are prioritising other positions for their big spends, having targeted RB Leipzig’s £100m-rated Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande.
Tottenham have already splashed £52m on Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke and brought in freebies Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
They have been in talks with Manchester City over a £60m pursuit of winger Savinho.
Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani have departed following their respective loans, while Yves Bissouma has been released. —Sun.
