Council expects bumper harvest

Muzarabani Rural District Council is expecting over 90 tonnes of maize harvest after successfully embracing  Command Agriculture.

The district information officer Mr Godfrey Chireru said the farming project is an attempt by the council to complement income generation means.

“The council took advantage of the Command Agriculture where it got inputs that were used on a 12-hectare field of maize in Centenary.

“Not only is maize a source of income for the council, but it has also been a source of employment for many. Currently 18 people are employed in the harvesting process of the maize,” he said
