A 65-YEAR-OLD Hatfield man has allegedly threatened to kill his wife for beating up their minor child.
Joro Tembo forced his five-year-old daughter to leave home and stay with his younger brother’s wife, Tracy Panasi, in Chinhoyi after clashing with his wife, Anna Mwanza, 33.
Anna claimed that she escaped her husband’s attack on Monday and sought refuge at Hatfield Police Station where she received counselling.
“Joro assaulted me for disciplining the child and he also accused me of entertaining my neighbours,” said Anna.
“He forced our daughter to go with Tracy, his younger brother’s wife. The child cried, but he never took heed and forced her to go to Chinhoyi.
“He threatened to kill me. Hanzi ndirikuda kukupunza ufe nekuti mwana haachisipo uye hauchamuwona zvakare.
“Our daughter is not familiar with Tracy, but they forced her to leave home and I rushed to police for help.
“Tracy was called by police, but she argued that she had no money to return to Harare and my fears are that my daughter will be starved of food,” said Anna.
Joro and Tracy could not be reached for comment.
However, sources close to the family told H-Metro that Anna had been taking lovers into her matrimonial home whenever Joro was at work.
