A HARARE couple threw all sorts of accusations against each other in a dramatic court hearing yesterday.
They appeared at the Harare Civil Court before magistrate Sharon Mashavire where Mavis Mujuru accused Piason Mugarira of physically and verbally abusing her.
Mavis claimed she had been chased from their matrimonial home.
“He comes home late around midnight and he asks me to have sex with him and, as a submissive wife, I allow him to, despite his abuse and allegations.
“Sometimes, at night I remove my panties and put them under the mattress when I am about to sleep.
“He accuses me of being a prostitute and says I am having extra-marital affairs,” said Mavis.
“He assaults me to the extent that I am now wearing spectacles because of his abuse.
“He even denies paternity of our children.
“He listed 14 people he accuses me of dating.”
In response, Piason said: “We have a habit of staying together and separating.
“Her boyfriend used to call me over the phone and instruct me not to approach my in-laws’ place of residence.
“If I ask her, she claims that I abuse her.
“I lifted up our mattress and came across soiled male underwear and when I asked her, she called it emotional abuse.”
Magistrate Mashavire granted the protection order in Mavis’ favour.
