Court tells irritant neighbour to zip it

A folu-mouthed neighbour, who is given to  hurling expletive-laden insults at her neighbour, has been ordered by a Harare court to desist from the habit.

A pregnant Caroline Mupane of Warren Park D, Harare, reportedly aims her volleys of abuse at Violent Makombe, her children and maid. And the victims can no longer stomach it. Mupane was hauled before Harare Civil Court magistrate Noah Gwatidzo a fortnight ago after Makombe applied for a protection order.

“Your Worship, this lady is my neighbour and I can longer cope with the way she treats me,” she said.

The insulting neighbour boasts that her pregnancy makes her immune to both prosecution and arrest. Mr Gwatidzo gave the protection order in favour of Makombe and ordered the accused not to insult or talk to her in any way.
