Cowdray Park model launches fashion brand

A FASHION model from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo has set up a fashion brand in a bid to demystify stereotypes surrounding modelling.

Fashion modelling entails posing for artistic photoshoots, to adorn clothing and accessories during runaway shows. These models display fashion designs on different media platforms and they serve as spokespersons for different brands.

Dianna Kennedy popularly known as Kikki Dinaj owns a brand called Dinaj Fashion Hub. She has worked with a number of brands in the country.  Kennedy said her goal was to ensure that stereotypes surrounding modelling are demystified.

“I have my clothing brand and we are having shoots for our denim collection. The brand will ensure that it helps demystify the different stereotypes that are held by society on modelling. This is because society believes that modelling is about pretty faces, neglecting that skills and marketing techniques are essential to being a successful model,” she said.

Kennedy stated that her dream of being a model was fuelled by the taunts she got in high school because of her physique.

She has worked with a number of brands in the country and has highlighted that in the years to come she hopes to grow her brand and help aspiring models.
