CHITUNGWIZA-based cricket player, Brendan “Young Rvito” Masunda has decided to pursue his music passion after he dropped a single titled Unovhaira Nei?
The Rainbow team cricketer said he was receiving positive feedback from fans on social media as a Zim Hip Hop artist.
Brendan’s new release comes after his debut single titled Ghetto Yut Anthem (life), which he released a few months back.
It was produced by Don Stotta.
He said: “I grew up singing as it is something that runs in the family.
“I managed to get support last year then got into the music industry this year.
“The main reason I am pursuing music is because it is my passion.
“My dad Crispen Masunga, who is in the United States, supports me while my aunt and brother, Lavert Masunda, do the management.”
He said he was still learning the ropes and is inspired mainly by Kanye West.
“Basically, I look up to Jay Z, Kanye West, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Eminem.
“I am expecting to release a full album this coming month and another single followed by a video set.”
Brendan wants to work with Maskiri on the local scene.
He is currently signed with Mutyisi Record Label, which is based in the United States, where content is sent for mastering and post production.
The DJ X-produced track, Unovhaira Nei? has flawless rhyme, rhythm and word use which are key in Hip Hop.
Brendan is the cousin of Zimbabwe national team player, Chamu Chibhabha, while his brother Lavert Masunda, also plays professional cricket.
