A FORM 3 student, who miraculously survived an attack by a crocodile, has been discharged and returned home.
Patience Sibanda, 17, returned to her home village at Musosonyi, the place where she sustained injuries while battling a crocodile in the Mwenezi River.
Her right leg was amputated at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
Patience told H-Metro that the opening of schools has opened another wound in her life.
“I am back at the village,” said Patience.
“Education has been my source of hope to help my parents get out of poverty.
“The Devil saw my future and shattered my dreams in a very painful way.
“As I watch my friends going to school, I feel like I am in an abyss.
“I could have been among the students and the opening of schools has opened a new wound in my soul,” said Patience.
Her parents are failing to raise the US$5500 needed for vacuumed dressing for the amputated leg to heal as well as a wheelchair.
“I hope to get help for my dressing on the amputated leg.
“Help me to open a new page or a chapter away from enduring the pain inflicted on me,” said Patience.
