THE National Country Championships are slated for tomorrow at the Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE).

National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) president, Tendai Tagara, said they expect a competitive show by all athletes.

NAAZ is using the National Cross-Championships to select athletes to represent the country at the World Cross Country Championship set for Australia next month.

“On Saturday the Nationals will come to life at BUSE. We are going to have all provinces battling for glory. We will be starting at 9am,” said Tagara.

“We are likely going to witness very stiff competition as athletes vie to be part of the team to represent the country at the World Cross Country Championship in Australia.

“We also expect to see our athletes putting in a good shift. We need them to clock good times for us to stand a good chance in Australia. We will be demanding good times from any athlete who wants to be selected.”
