ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) has promised to cater for the late Lady Chevrons assistant coach, Sinikiwe Mpofu’s youngest child’s school fees at a private school in Marondera.
ZC pledged to take care of the boy’s tuition up to university.
The oldest son’s high school also announced that it will pay his tuition.
Mpofu was laid to rest at Lady Stanley Cemetery in Bulawayo on Wednesday.
She was awarded a state assisted funeral due to her contribution to society through sport.
The 37-year-old died on Saturday, less than a month after her husband, Shepherd Makunura, who was the Chevrons’ assistant coach, was buried.
Mpofu was pronounced dead on arrival at a medical facility after collapsing at her Masvingo home.
At the time of her death, Mpofu was still trying to come to terms with the death of her husband.
Mpofu was a talented all-rounder, who was part of the history-making team that represented Zimbabwe Women in their first-ever international cricket match in December 2006.
