AIMMEDIA Arts Association is set to hold a community culture festival on September 30 at Club Lashers Garden.
Speaking to H-Metro, one of the event organisers, Anesu Maibeki, said:
“The objective is to create a space or platform where any type, or form of arts and crafts, can showcase.
“We want to create a platform where these artists can network and interact for growth.
“We are inviting the business community to come and support us,” he said.
Anesu said the show is open for every age group.
“On age groups, we want to accommodate everyone. Any art lover, because looking at the new curriculum introduced by the Government, most questions asked on CALA are related to arts.
“It appears it’s hard for students to answer some of the cultural or traditional questions.
“But, I believe art is all about having fun and learning,” said Anesu.
He added:
“We are running under the theme ‘Our Culture, Our identity’.
“We have understood that our culture is now being eroded.
“That’s why you see nowadays people, especially the youths, are losing our morals and values.
“So, when we did our cultural web series, we realised that most of our problems, in our communities, are as a result of cultural loss.”
Anesu said that he was looking forward to more support.
“We are expecting this will mark a new era in the promotion of arts and culture, from the grassroots of our community, since it is the main source of development.
“We are looking forward to hosting all indigenous Zimbabwe cultures, crafts, arts, and artists.”
