FIRST she started off as a model then she tried her hand at Deejaying. Now she is a hair baron as China-based Cyclone Ree (real name Lungile Mathe) seeks to venture into the lucrative hair supply business.

Announcing her latest venture, Cyclone Beauty Bar, the lanky model said she supplies Brazilian, Peruvian and Indian hair ranging from 10 to 30 inches costing between $140 and $300 to people in Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The former Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Miss Personality 2011 said she had been toying with the idea for a long time, until she participated in an online entrepreneurship workshop.

“My main role model, the person who awakened the entrepreneurship drive in me is Vusi Thembekayo from South Africa through an entrepreneurship network that was founded by a Zimbabwean businessman called Simba Mhuriro,” said Cyclone Ree.

“This beauty bar is just the entry to a great vision, fashion, lifestyle and wellness. I decided to venture into this business as I understand what women want in terms of beauty and hair.”

Following in the footsteps of another beauty, Lorraine Maphala who runs Real Hair by Lorraine in Bulawayo, Cyclone Ree said she was going to expand her business to other beauty products once she is established.

“I’ve started with hair for now. But in future, I want to venture into supplying beauty products. I’m looking at facial products and skin treatment products because although hair is the crowning glory, you need a good skin to complement it,” said Cyclone Ree.
