Located in Shamva, Centre Zimbabwe Africa (CZA) High School is making waves in the education sector with its commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and holistic development.

As a boarding school under the patronage of Johane Masowe Vadzidzi Va Jesu, CZA High School has been steadily growing since its inception in 2016.

The school recently held its Prize Giving Day, with the guest of honour, Tafadzwa Sandura delivering a motivational speech that emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship, discipline, and avoiding distractions.

The school, established in 2016, has built a reputation for excellence in academics and entrepreneurship.

The school’s academic performance has been impressive, with a 100 percent pass rate at A-Level for the past two years. At O-Level, the pass rate increased by 3.2 percent from 75 percent in 2023 to 78.2 percent in 2024. Eleven learners obtained 5 As and above, with the highest achieving 8 As.

Sandura praised the school’s culture, which is built on faith, discipline, and innovation.

The school’s bakery initiative was cited as an example of practical entrepreneurship, where students learn bread-making, budgeting, marketing, and profit management.

He encouraged students to think entrepreneurially and create their own opportunities. ‘‘Don’t just look for a job — create one. Don’t just dream of joining an institution — build one.

“Students, let me speak directly to you. We live in a country and a world where opportunities don’t always come knocking. Sometimes, you must build the door yourself. Entrepreneurship is not reserved for billionaires; it begins with the small ideas you nurture today.

Sandura warned students about the dangers of substance abuse, saying it can destroy their future and potential. He encouraged them to guard their destiny and avoid distractions.

“Now, let us confront a danger that threatens too many of our youth — drugs and substance abuse. Students, I will be frank: drugs are dream killers.

‘‘They do not make you cool; they make you a fool. They steal your focus, drain your health, break your families, and erase the very future we are celebrating today,” he said.

Zimbabwe needs you sober, alert, and strong. Shamva needs you disciplined and ambitious. Your parents need you alive and thriving.
