ALL is now in place for the official launch of the World Navi Northern Region Division One raffle tickets sale. League chairman Willard Manyengavana said the tickets will cost US$1 each and will be sold at Division One matches under their control. “The raffle tickets will go on sale next week after the official launch, we have managed to bring the cars and they are now in the country while a little work still needs to be done,” said Manyengavana.
“We will meet with the Ministry of Home Affairs to finish our paperwork so that the raffles can go on sale.
“The sale of the raffle tickets was supposed to begin on August 1, but we had some delays which I don’t think will affect the participants.
“We will allocate tickets to all the 18 teams and probably find other venues which are going to be selling points for the tickets.
“Of the three cars, two will be won by lucky fans, through the raffle tickets, and the other will be given to this year’s Zifa Northern Region Player of the Year award winner.
“What we are trying to do is to get as much money as possible, through the sale of the tickets, and we are looking at selling about 200 000 tickets and each will cost a dollar.”
Meanwhile, in the Zifa Eastern Region, Mutare City Rovers maintained pole position after they edged stubborn Mwenezana 1-0 in Beitbridge.
The Rovers opened four-point lead over second-placed Buffalo Junior who won 1-0 at Renco Mine.
