each for Outstanding Song, Outstanding Album and Outstanding Musician/Group categories.
Comedian-cum-musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima bagged two nominations for Outstanding Song and Outstanding Album for Juice Card.
Suluman Chimbetu got one nomination in the Outstanding Musician/Group category while Vabati Vevhangeri, Kubatana Kwevatendi and twice NAMA award winners Vabati VaJehovah will square up in the Outstanding Choral Group.
Herald senior reporter Jonathan Mbiriyamveka was nominated in the Outstanding Arts Reporter (Print) category alongside Godwin Muzari of The Standard and Kenneth Matamaire, a freelance journalist.
The 10th edition of NAMA will be held at the 7 Arts Theatre on February 19.
Speaking at the launch of the awards yesterday, National Arts Council of Zimbabwe director Elvas Mari  said the awards will take place despite the financial difficulties the council is facing.
“Nama will always be there. We have not raised enough money but with the little that we have the awards will take place,” he said.
Mari said they had received support from well- wishers to make the event a reality.
There will be no prize money in this year’s edition of NAMA — which is running under the theme “A Decade of Excellence and Creativity” — as 2011 marks 10 years of existence since the inaugural awards ceremony was held in  2002.
Announcing the list of nominees Dudu Manhenga — the chairperson of the panel of adjudicators — commended the high level of work by the artistes.
“There is a great improvement in the quality of work displayed by artistes.”
She also said there was also a marked improvement in the number of entries for  this year[‘s edition.
Manhenga, however, bemoaned the few entries for the Literary Arts category where she said artistes were being deterred by the high publishing costs.
