Darts Association president eyes Zone 6 regional post

If elected Moyo, who has done a lot for the sport at national level, will be in office for the next five years.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Heroes Holidays Championships at Esigodini Agricultural College yesterday, Moyo said if nominated, he will take up the offer without hesitation.

“I will put my head if I am nominated and I believe I will have a lot to contribute to darts. My focus will be junior development which is where the future of darts lies,” he said.
Moyo’s tenure has seen the sport generating a lot of interest among youths especially school pupils.

The National Association of Secondary Heads (Nash) has introduced the sport in their curriculum.

Meanwhile, Brian Ndlovu almost defeated favourite David Nyemba but the old man from Mashonaland West stood his ground and won the leg to progress through to the final where he was expected to meet

Harare representative, Tobias Mavima last night. Mavima accounted for another Bulawayo player Patrick Zimidzi who was also expected to clash with Ndlovu in the third place play offs last night.

In youth competitions, Harare C came first in team events after collecting nine points with Mashonaland West getting silver while hosts Matabeleland South got bronze.

Harare continued with their dominance in the Open Doubles when Aubrey Maganga and Nyasha Chiriseri came tops relegating Kelvin Mkukozora and Brian Dobbie of Mashonaland West to second position and their teammates Edward Bwanali and Daniel Mavhura to a bronze medal.

Roland Laundi of Mashonaland West is the 2012 Open Singles champion after coming out tops while Macmilan Zulu also of Mashonaland West got a silver medal.

Muzokora got the most 180s, with two.
