Darts fiesta on cards

DARTS players from different clubs in Mutare are expected to converge at Beer Engine in Chikanga high-density suburb where the host club will have an open tournament during the forthcoming Easter holidays.In a statement, organisers of the tournament appealed to interested individuals and teams, old and new darts players to participate in the tournament.

“All women and men are invited to the tournament to come compete, even learn the darts sport. The main theme is to have funny and enjoy the sporting activity

“The mode of the play will be cocktail doubles, which will be picked out of the hat then singles as normal. We appeal to all interested individuals to come support us as we endeavour to raise funds for our Beer Engine Darts Club,” reads part of the statement.

Entry fees for the tournament are pegged at $1 for singles and double the amount for cocktail doubles.

Darts clubs in Manicaland have been on the increase over the years but lack of funding has affected the development of the game irrespective of the wide interest the game has attracted in all corners of the province.
