Data collection for Harare masterplan begins

Herald Reporter

THE City of Harare has started primary data collection for its master plan, focusing on industrial property owners, industrial space users, commercial property owners, shopping centre occupants, and consumers.

The initiative starts today.

Research assistants, dressed in City of Harare-branded bibs and carrying official identity cards, will be deployed across Harare’s industrial areas and shopping centres, including the central business district (CBD).

They will work from 8am to 4pm.

Harare mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume is set to join the research assistants at 8am to conduct interviews with industrialists, commercial property owners, shop occupants, and consumers.

In a statement last night, the Harare Master Plan Team noted: “Notice of this exercise is hereby given and you are invited to support the research assistants as they visit your industrial spaces, commercial areas, and shopping centres. We appreciate your cooperation.”
