Deeds registrar acquitted

before regional magistrate Mr Temba Kuwanda charged with criminal abuse of duty as a public officer.
At the close of State case he made an application for discharge arguing that the State had failed to prove a prima-facie case against him.
In his ruling Mr Kuwanda concurred with Magwere and acquitted him of the charges.

However, prosecutor Mr Michael Reza notified the court that he would appeal against the magistrate’s decision to acquit him.  .
It was alleged that Magwere’s action was calculated to show favour to both Chegutu Properties and Daisy Shamu.
The property in question is valued at US$280 000.
