UPCOMING boxing promoter Clyde Musonda has received a major boost when his academy Delta Force received a boxing ring and some gloves from their sponsor Gypsite Electrical Contractors.

The ring imported from South Africa will see the boxing enthusiast holding several tournaments starting with King of the Ring Ghetto Explosion to be held at Mbare Netball Complex on Saturday. The tournament will have a battle between Tinashe Mwadziwanza and Tinashe Mutodza in the Zimbabwe Super Bantamweight Title as the main bout.

The tournament is organized by Delta Force Academy who have partnered Gypsite, Topteam, Youth Against Drugs as well as No Pain No Gain among several others.Musonda was delighted by the Electrical Contractors’ goodwill and believes it will go a long way in promoting the sport especially in the high density suburbs where talent is abundant.

“Many thanks to Gypsite Electrical Contractors for buying my stable a boxing ring and gloves God bless you. I think this will go a long way in promoting the sport especially in the high density suburbs where there is a lot of talent. The ring and gloves will help a lot and it will see us staging many tournament so that the sport grows big and better,” said Musonda.

Gypsite Electrical Contractors representative Dezzy Office said they are happy to partner Musonda’s stable and will also sponsor the upcoming tournament.

“We are happy to be part of the Zimbabwe Super Bantamweight Title Championship and we will sponsor most of the things. Our aim is to promote sports as we also have a soccer team in Gutu which we sponsor. I think the relationship will go a long way and see the sport improve. We hope to produce top boxers through tournaments like these.

“As a way of giving back to the community we saw it fit to be in a partnership with Delta Force Academy,” said Office.
