DEMBARE IN BASEMENT BATTLE

Sports Reporter

TROUBLED Dynamos will be without coach Saul Chaminuka when they host Manica Diamonds clash in an awkward Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Rufaro this afternoon.

The two sides after facing relegation.

Chaminuka who was duly sanctioned by the league’s disciplinary committee for causing the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum in Zvishavane.

Chaminuka was handed a two-match ban and fined US$4 000 as Dynamos, who will pay US$5000 fine, forfeited the match on a 3-0 scoreline as in the norm.

The nomadic coach will also miss the tricky assignment away to Chicken Inn at Barbourfields on Sunday.

With games fast running out, Dynamos cannot afford to drop points as teams above them like Yadah, Bikita Minerals and Greenfuel have been collecting points and widening the gap.

Dynamos, who have managed just two victories all season, go into today’s match EIGHT points from safety with 13 matches remaining.

Manica Diamonds, who need to win and move out of the danger zone, occupy the final relegation slot.

They are two points behind 14th placed Chicken Inn and are six points above Dynamos.

They will be hoping that Kudzanai Dhemere, a former Dynamos forward, could fire them to a vital win today.

For the Glamour Boys, the reality is that even if they win today they will remain second-from-the-bottom of the table.
