DYNAMOS rebuilding project is gathering pace, with newly appointed head coach Aristica Cioaba set to complete his backroom staff by roping in an assistant coach from Ghana, Zimpapers Sports Hub can reveal.
The expected appointment will complete a sweeping overhaul of the club’s technical department since the arrival of the Romanian.
Sources familiar with the developments say the Ghanaian coach is already in the country and could be unveiled by the club when all formalities are complete.
“The executive wants to create stability. They believe success starts with putting the right structures in place, and that includes allowing the coach to bring in people who understand his methods and philosophy,” said an insider.
“There has been a deliberate effort to move quickly because everyone at the club understands the expectations that come with Dynamos. The objective is not just to improve performances this season but to build a team capable of competing for honours consistently.”
The restructuring reflects Dynamos’ determination to build a stable technical set-up capable of sustaining the club’s resurgence after several difficult seasons.
Since being appointed as club chairman, Vincent Chawonza and company has moved quickly to reshape the club.
The appointment of Cioaba formed the centre-piece of a wider rebuilding programme aimed at returning Dynamos to the summit.
And the changes have coincided with a dramatic improvement on the pitch. After spending much of last season battling relegation, Dynamos have transformed into genuine championship contenders this season.
Although they trail Castle Lager Premier Soccer League leaders Scottland by nine points, the Glamour Boys remain firmly in the title race.
“The mood around the club is very positive. Last season was difficult, but there is a belief that the rebuilding process is beginning to bear fruit. Everyone is pulling in the same direction, and there is confidence that the technical team being assembled will help take the club forward.”
The expected arrival of the Ghanaian as assistant coach could also prove beneficial for Dynamos’ leading scorer Frank Agyemang, who is one of the Premier Soccer League’s stand-out performers.
Agyemang, who has already netted 11 league goals this season, is also Ghanaian and could further adapt and increase confidence as Dynamos push for the title.
“Frank has settled in very well, and his performances speak for themselves. Having another Ghanaian within the technical set-up should only help him. They share a common background and language, which can make communication better, but ultimately it’s about creating an environment where every player can perform at their best.”
