THE Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Mr Joshua Sacco, is this afternoon expected to officially open the ministry’s mid-term strategic review workshop in Bulawayo.
The two-day workshop, which began on Thursday and ends today, has brought together officials from the Ministry and its State Enterprises and Parastatals to assess progress made during the first half of the year, identify implementation challenges and develop strategies to improve performance in the second half of 2026.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Engineer Joy Makumbe, said the workshop provides an important platform for stakeholders to evaluate progress and strengthen programme implementation.
“The workshop is focusing on reviewing milestones achieved against set targets, identifying gaps that may have hindered implementation and developing practical solutions to improve performance. Among the key objectives are reflecting on progress recorded during the first half of 2026, identifying challenges encountered during implementation and drawing actionable lessons to enhance service delivery and programme execution,” said Eng Makumbe.
She said the review comes at a critical stage as the ministry prepares for the Mid-Term Review of its 2026 Annual Plan and a corporate governance oversight workshop scheduled for this weekend in Bulawayo.
