The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has officially confirmed that referee Quedsani Dirwai is currently serving a six-match suspension from officiating Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches. This disciplinary action, according to the association, is part of ongoing efforts to uphold high refereeing standards and ensure fair play in the domestic game.

The suspension covers Matchdays 18 through 23 of the 2025 PSL season and stems from Dirwai’s performance during the high-profile clash between FC Platinum and Dynamos at Mandava Stadium on 22 June 2025. A thorough review of the match supported by the Match Commissioner’s report determined that Dirwai’s officiating did not meet the professional standards expected at the top tier of Zimbabwean football.

In accordance with Paragraph 21 of the ZIFA Referees Code of Conduct, the six-match ban was handed down as both a corrective and disciplinary measure.

“ZIFA reiterates its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring that all match officials operate within the framework of professionalism, accountability, and consistency,” the association said in a statement.
