Discipline-gone-bad picture surfaces

A PICTURE of the corpse of a 14-year-old that was beaten to death by her mother for engaging in sex and drugs at a tender age has surfaced.

Mother to the late, Vimbai Mashiri was granted $50 bail byA� Kwekwe Magistrate Taurai Manwere last week.A� She told B-Metro that the discipline-gone-bad situation traumatised her.

a�?I am traumatised and unstable at the moment. I find it very difficult to speak. I keep asking myself how it happened and why it happened,a�? said the dejected Mashiri.

In court it was said that the late Thelma Mashiri, a school dropout hadA� gone for a week without coming home. Her mother then went to fetch her at her (Thelmaa��s) frienda��s place in Amaveni suburb

Out of anger, she beat her child with an electric cable and later used a tree log.

When neighbours tried to stop her, she told them that no one had to intervene in her family matters.

It was reported that prosecutors had advised against granting her bail, warning she was suicidal and had received threats to physically harm her from her inlaws. She returns to court on 24 May.
