ZRP Hwange a a club owned by the Zimbabwe Republic Police a plying their trade in the Zifa Southern Region league is just game away from expulsion if they fail to fulfil another fixture with 10 matches left before the end of the 2016 season.
In a space of a week ZRP Hwange has failed to fulfil two fixtures.
The first was an encounter against Indlovu Iyanyathela on 17 September at the Brady Barracks while the second was a midweek catch up fixture at Luveve Stadium against Bulawayo Chiefs on 20 September.
On both occasions, in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the Southern Region league, the opponents were each awarded three points on a 3-0 scoreline.
Failure to fulfil a third fixture will see the club expelled from the league.
a?If ZRP Hwange fail to fulfil another match to bring the number of such cases to three, they will be expelled from the league. The rules are very clear on that,a? said league administrator Augustine Ndlovu.
The situation does not look rosy for the club.
Currently anchoring the log standings with a paltry nine points from 20 matches, chances of surviving relegation appear very slim.
For the club to continue playing division one football a and avoid the axe into division two – they must win at least three quarters of their remaining 10 matches and hope their closest relegation foes hit dry spells.
By ZRP Hwange standards winning at least seven out of 10 matches is a mammoth task considering they have only picked up two wins in the last 20 games.
