A NUMBER of teams in the Zifa Southern Region have still not paid affiliation fees for the 2016 season, B-Metro Sport can reveal.
But the league executive is not worried about the delay as there are arrangements in place for the concerned teams to settle their dues.
a�?We understand the difficult economic environment that the teams are operating in and we know that they will eventually pay their affiliation fees. Teams that currently owe us have never given us problems in the past so we have every reason to believe they will settle their debts when funds are made available,a�? said league chairman Musa Mandaza.
Clubs that are owned by government institutions such as the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Servicesa�� Ntabazinduna Football Club are yet to pay their $2 500 affiliation fees.
Indlovu Iyanyathela is owned by the Zimbabwe National Army while Black Boots is a Zimbabwe Republic Police owned club.
a�?As soon as the government avails funds the affected teams will pay their affiliation fees. Our core business is to play football so while the issue of outstanding affiliation fees is being dealt with by our finance guys, the teams should concentrate on playing football,a�? added Mandaza.
The list of teams that owe the league affiliation fees also includes individual and corporate owned clubs with some having paid half at the beginning of the season and continue to settle outstanding dues in monthly instalments.
