GOSPEL songstress Janet Manyowa said when she was working on her album ‘Worship Moments (Open Heavens)’ she was in a season of seeking God.
The album, which was unveiled on Thursday night, has seven songs – ‘Somlandela’, ‘Anotida’, ‘Makatendeka’, ‘Revive Us Again’, ‘We Cry’, ‘YHWH’ and ‘Dancing in Your Light’.
This is Manyowa’s sixth album.
She recorded the album live at an outdoor venue at Art Farm, Harare.
This was her first time to have an outdoor recording.
In the past few years she has released albums like ‘Father’s House’, ‘Nenyasha’, ‘Sounds of Victory’, ‘Grateful’ and ‘King of Glory’.
Manyowa brought energy to the stage and made the crowd dance to her tunes.
The event was graced by notable guests, including several artists and ministers of gospel, who came to support Janet and her inspiring message.
“I believe God places themes in seasons of our lives, I was in the season of seeking God.
“For YHWH it was reaching out, Lord remove distractions, Lord am reaching out for you.
“Anotida’ is a well-known gospel hymn in Zimbabwe that has resonated deeply with the Christian community. The title translates to ‘He loves us,’ emphasising themes of divine love and grace.”
Musician Everton Mlalazi purchased the Makafanira Artwork for his daughter.
“Thank you for showing up, supporting and going above and beyond.
“For those who kept asking for this artwork, as you can see, handisisina,” she said.
YHWH is now available on all media platforms.
