An ecstatic Phat Beatz said he was thrilled to be nominated for such a prestigious award with some of the finest DJs not only on the continent but also from around the world.

“I know its going to be a rough journey but I am going to make it and lift my country’s flag high,” said Phat Beatz.
Phat Beatz said people nominated him following the success of his tour of Asia in June last year where he impressed in Malaysia with his talent on the turntables.
“Last year I launched my first international career as a DJ and this saw me touring across Asia with top South African DJ Cindo. This opened doors for me and I think this is when people discovered the talent that Zimbabwe has and nominated me for these annual awards held in Malaysia,” he said.
Phat Beatz is scheduled to host a nominations party in South Africa in a few weeks time before leaving for another bash in Malaysia on March 25.
He will also be releasing his mix-tape for this year titled “Life of the Party,’ which is a follow-up to last year’s release.
“I do it (the mix-tapes) annually just to spread the love for music, especially as a way of thanking my fans, friends and family for their support,” he said.
Apart from the nomination, it seems the world is going well on its axis for the young DJ.
“I have also signed a number of endorsement deals with a number of both local and foreign fashion companies.
“In Zimbabwe I am working with labels like Adrian Harrison Collection and Team Playaz while in South Africa Red Lion Pimping are dressing me with their head gears including caps and hats.
“They have made me their first ambassador to Zimbabwe, apart from sponsoring my last mix-tape, ‘Catch Me If You Can’,” revealed Phat Beatz.
