In a recent Instagram post, celebrity businessman Sbusiso ‘DJ Sbu’ Leope opens up about the rough year he has had.

He jots down the financial sacrifices he has made recently in order to make sure his dreams come true, especially in ensuring that his start-up business – energy drink MoFaya – thrives.

Sbu, who was fired from Metro FM earlier this year; posted a snapshot in Maputo two days ago and in the caption revealed that he was in Mozambique working and not on holiday.

Furthermore, Sbu writes that he is “more broke than I have been in a long time”, before posing the question “Are you willing to risk it all for your dream?”

“This is not a holiday selfie. We’re at work. I’m not poor. But I’m broke. More broke than I have been in a long time. I’m deep in debt. Every last cent. Drop of blood sweat tears. Emotions. Energy,” Sbu explained.

He reveals that he is “broke” and swimming “deep in debt” because of the energy drink, but it has taught him an important life lesson.

“Everything has been invested in #MyStartUp. Been fired. Laughed at, called crazy and more. Are you willing to risk it all for your dream?” – Sowetan.
