Dongo speaks on indigenisation

She urged political parties in Zimbabwe to involve the youths in leadership positions.
In an interview on the sidelines of the national young leaders’ summit in Harare on Friday, Mrs Dongo said it was high time political parties stopped lip-service about youth empowerment.

“I urge the youths to embrace indigenisation because it is meant to empower them regardless of political affiliation,” said Mrs Dongo.
“I understand that most people differ with the methodology, but it is a good policy that speaks to the ideals of the liberations struggle.

“The youths have to endorse indigenisation because they can’t claim power when they are poor. Parties must make sure youths are not tools for violence, but are empowered.”

Mrs Dongo took a swipe at Old Mutual saying the insurance company was supposed to avail more funds than US$10 million.

“Our parents contributed to the wealth that Old Mutual has, but they can only give US$10 million for about 60 percent of the country’s population, that is an insult.”
