Smoking and drinking are addictive, but the drinker and the smoker are not the only addicts.
Check the amount of time that certain things consume your time.
Have you cared to check how much time you spend on your phone?
Take a moment to check how much money and time are you putting up on social media.
You should be concerned about the amount of time you allocate to television programmes.
If Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp accounts for the larger chunk of your time, then you are an addict.
Business has evolved and a lot of social media marketing is being done on social media, but that is not an excuse.
In reality a smaller fraction of the people is doing business on social media, with the majority just passing time.
One of the best ways to secure your future is managing how you use time.
Save yourself from being a slave of social media.
Passing time should be recreational and a breather from a hard day’s work.
The activity should not consume you and change the person that you are.
If you cannot switch off your phone or just put it aside to be productive then you are growing into a social media addict.
If you are always online, then it is time to revise your manners.
Social media is not an escape from social ills like high unemployment.
You cannot claim not to have the resources to start a business when you can fund your daily social media bundles.
The same way you borrow to buy data is the same route you should take to start a business venture.
There is no justification for you to always be carrying your phone around to keep up-to-date with social media.
If you cannot discipline yourself and allocate time off non-productive social media, then you are an addict.
If you cannot shelve social media for a moment to focus on your productive modes you are an addict.
If missing a social episode eats you such that you get restless then you are getting addicted.
Like social media, TV should be recreational not consuming and disruptive to your family time.
There is a lot that one can miss by giving too much attention to TV.
Without noticing family patterns can be changed for the worse if there is no control over how family members spend their time, especially during that time when you should be together.
Talking as a family and checking on each other physically, especially when in the same location is therapeutic, as opposed to each person being on their phone the whole night or giving all their attention to the TV.
Social media is so addictive that you will always be scrolling your phone without anything significant towards your goals.
Do not anticipate opening your social media accounts while you are still doing other things it forms destruction to your productive thoughts.
Be alive to productive parts of your life such that you remain focused until such a time when you have free time to check your socials.
Allocate time to all the activities of your life and take everything in a good portion.
You cannot bury yourself in your work in the same manner you cannot afford to invest all your time and resources into social activities.
To be the champion of your destiny you have to exercise control and restrain. Everything that is at your disposal requires you to show management ability.
If you cannot manage your phone and TV or radio, there is no way you can build an empire.
What you have within reach should not change your values and goals.
It is not an accident that there are adverts across all social media platforms and TV or radio; someone is building an empire whilst you are burying yourself alive through social addiction.
Everything at your disposal should make you not destroy you and that is true for social media platforms.
The convenience and reach that they afford you should be a stepping stone towards reaching greater heights.
Social networks will be with humanity into the future, it will only take good management for personal benefit from these platforms or one risk being a victim should they choose to be addicted.
There is a lot to enjoy from social media the same way there is a lot of harm that social media can bring.
Manage how and where you spend your time addiction to anything kills productivity.
