DON’T WORRY, WE ARE FINE, SAYS DEFIANT MABLANYO

DYNAMOS have been tormented by mega-rich clubs who have snatched some of their star players in the current transfer window.

However, DeMbare coach Lloyd “MaBlanyo” Chigowe believes the Glamour Boys will still be able to compete.

They have been holding trials in the past few days in a move widely seen as a desperate attempt to plug the huge holes created by the players who left.

But the lanky gaffer, who will be leading DeMbare in the CAF Confederation Cup for the second successive year, having won the Chibuku Super Cup last season, said his team already has an overflow of players under contract for the upcoming term.

He said the current trials are meant to provide a chance to talented players, recommended from regions by their stakeholders, to play for the decorated club.

“As Dynamos, we are obliged to assess players who have been recommended to us by followers, who are also stakeholders,” said Chigowe.

“They recommend players from all the provinces of the country and, naturally, we want to give these boys a chance to see if they can make the class at Dynamos.

“It’s not like we are holding trials because we are very desperate but we feel it is necessary for us to assess talent that might be coming from the different regions.

“Having said that, we already have a squad which is oversubscribed. We need 30 players, but we have 32 on our books, including new players that we are bringing in.

“We have two new players whose deals we have completed and another one who we are still finalising talks with. “

He added:

“But what I can say to the Dynamos family is that they should stay patient.

“Those other teams are amassing all the talent in Zimbabwe because of the resources they have at their disposal but, at the end of the day, we have got two months to build a squad.”

Dynamos will be without Emmanuel Jalai, Tanaka Shandirwa, Donald Mudadi, twins Kevin and Elvis Moyo, goalkeeper Martin Mapisa and Issa Sadiki, who have gone to teams like Scottland, Simba Bhora and Manica Diamonds.

“It’s unfortunate we have lost a few players like Tanaka Shandirwa, Donald Mudadi and Emmanuel Jalai. That is the story of Dynamos.

“At one point we lost the entire squad to Shooting Stars but we still emerged stronger. We will have a squad that will compete.

“We have acquired the services of striker Farai Matatu, who used to play in the United States of America, as well as Ghanaian Frank Agymang.

“I should say I am impressed with what I have seen in them and I am sure they will add a lot of value to the team.”
