RENOWNED gospel diva, Dorcas Moyo, has released her 10th album — “Mugeri Tsvatu” — comprising 11 tracks.
In keeping with her tradition of collaborations, the multi-award-winning artiste has teamed up with various artistes, including some from secular genres.
In an interview with Weekender Entertainment this week, Moyo expressed enthusiasm about sharing this new project with the world.
The album will receive a grand launch tomorrow at the Mutare Showgrounds, featuring an impressive lineup of performers.
The star-studded roster includes sungura ace, Alick Macheso, Leonard Zhakata, Sulumani Chimbetu, Amai Olivia Charamba, Mathias Mhere, King David, Mbeu and Fungisai Zvakavapano among other celebrated artistes.

Local talent will also be well represented by Hosiah Chipanga, Carol Chidzikwe, Mai Mukanganwa, Tinashe Murigo, Blessing Shumba, and Ellen Anderson.
The title of the album, “Mugeri Tsvatu” — continues Moyo’s fascination with hair — a theme she has explored in her previous albums, “Bvudzi Rangu Ramera”, “Mhanza Haisekwi” and “Mvere Dzabvepi”.
The album features 11 tracks, which are “Kazevezeve”, “Denga Rina Mwari”, “Wodalitsika” (featuring Dr Ethel Kamwendo Banda), “Munamato”, “Panofuurika”, “Mubatsiri Wangu” (featuring Pastor Tinashe Murigo), “Wamunodisa”, “Jerusarema,” “Rumbidzo Yangu”, and “Messiah Ndichamuwona” (featuring Nobert Mukombe and Pastor Vhengere).
“The launch is going to be extraordinary. This will be an unforgettable experience and a must-attend event for all ages. Previous awards, which we have won, are a huge recognition and the second nomination is proof that we are consistently doing something right. It is a great source of inspiration for us to reach even greater heights.

“We are highly excited and expecting to win the award once again. This year’s event is bigger and better. There is a significant leap from last year’s edition. We have moved to the more flexible venue at the Mutare Showgrounds, and the event will go into the early hours of Sunday morning. It is going to be endless entertainment,” she said.
Moyo also revealed the inspiration behind the album’s title, saying that was drawn from a Bible verse.
“As referenced in 2 Samuel 10:4 – Hunun thought David’s messengers were spies, yet they had come to genuinely console him. Hunun, however, humiliated them by cutting off their beards. Little did he know that, in time, their beards would grow back, restoring their dignity. In the end, they had the last laugh, and this is what “Mugeri Tsvatu” symbolises.”
Moyo’s previous projects include Mhanza Haisekwe (2023), Bvudzi Rangu Ramera (2022), Bvisai Marara (2021), PaMarah Tapfuura (2020), and Ndibatsirei Mwari (2020), among others.
