MUTARE-BASED choral group Dangamvura Old Students’ Association, who came fifth in the 37th Old Mutual National Choir Festival held in Thohoyandou in South Africa recently, have hailed various stakeholders and individuals who came aboard with assistance and made their trip to SA a success.
DOSA group manager Patrick Matsikenyiri said in a statement: “DOSA extends its very warm gratitude for the unwavering support that is always given by the community, Resident Minister and Mayor in our quest for sustaining high-quality music in Manicaland and Zimbabwe as a whole.
“We were very honoured by the financial support given by companies like Perem Dry Cleaners, Sanhanga Business Centre who opened the donations when we sang for the annual industry and commerce at Amber Hotel in Mutare, Light House Church for providing concert venue, businesses, universities, schools, individuals, The Manica Post, choirs and churches that gave us resounding moral support. Some companies have promised to support us as they are able even now as we continue with our singing project at a higher level.
“We will continue to count on you all as we raise the Manicaland flag and Zimbabwe in song with highly performed repertoire. Our directors are eager to get us to higher ground.
“May the good Lord continue to bless you and us all as Manicaland continues its high-performing virtues in the arts,” he said.
