Dr Msongelwa among Africa’s top 100 education influencers

EDUCATOR, author and mentor Manners Msongelwa has been recognised among Africa’s most influential figures in education after being named in the “100 Most Impactful Education Personalities in Africa – 2025.”

The accolade was presented at the Africa Education Summit held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, where leading educators, policymakers and development partners from across the continent gathered.

The recognition highlights Dr Msongelwa’s contribution to the transformation of education in Zimbabwe and across Africa, particularly through his work in advancing learning, leadership and capacity-building initiatives.

Summit organisers described him as a visionary leader whose work continues to inspire positive change in African education systems.

“Dr Manners Msongelwa’s dedication to transforming educational landscapes and empowering future generations exemplifies the spirit of excellence and impact that this award seeks to recognise,” they said.

Dr Msongelwa has been at the forefront of innovative educational programmes and policy reforms that have had a significant impact on communities and institutions across the continent.

In his acceptance remarks, he said the recognition was both humbling and motivating.

“This recognition is deeply humbling yet powerfully affirming. It is a testament to a journey driven by passion, purpose and an unwavering belief that education can transform lives,” he said.

He added that the honour goes beyond personal achievement and represents a broader commitment to empowering future generations, particularly the girl child.

As one of Africa’s top 100 education personalities, Dr Msongelwa joins a distinguished group of leaders shaping the future of education and driving innovation across the continent.
